Supplies:
Cotton Swap, Water, and Rubbing Alcohol

Supplies:
Glass Cleaner, Water, and Cotton Towel or Cloth

Step 1:
Make a simple solution consisting of 50% rubbing alcohol and 50% water. This diluted solution will serve two purposes. One, the water is used to weaken the strength of the alcohol, so as not to make further damage to the electronics. And secondly, the alcohol helps dry the solution faster by increasing the evaporation rate, so that the water, which is needed to clean the metal contacts, has minimal contact with the metal contacts of the cartridge.

Please note: Never blow on the cartridge contacts. While this may help immediately, the water vapor and condensation in your mouth will actually make the contacts rust in time!

Step 1:
Lightly soak the cotton towel with water. The fabric should be moist but not to have absorbed too much water as to be dripping.

Please note: The fabric should be a soft cotton material. Do not under any circumstance substitute cotton for polyester or a paper towel. These materials will scratch the disc further and do more damage!

Step 2:
Dip the cotton swab into the rubbing alcohol/water solution.
You want the cotton swab to be lightly saturated with the cleaning solution, but not dripping.

Step 2:
Spray the glass cleaner onto the towel or cotton fabric.

Step 3:
Rub the cotton swab against the metal contacts of the cartridge. Be sure to travel in the same direction as the metal contacts.

Step 3:
Take the towel and gently rub the cd from the inner circle to the outer edge in a straight line.

Please note: Only stroke from the center outward, and never in a circular motion. Rubbing motions other than in a straight line will cause more damage to the disc.
Step 4:
Allow the cartridge contacts to dry completely
- 12 minutes recommended.
